So I have two lists setup on our SharePoint 2013 environment using which I want to create a custom search form.
The first list is a custom list built directly on SharePoint and the second is an external list which is getting pulled from a SQL database using Business Data Connectivity service.
I created an InfoPath form directly from SharePoint using the first list. I then setup a Manage Data Connection for the external list (setup using BDC). I did create a search button on the form to query the external data list's Manage Data connection. I did this so that the search form will load faster.
I have a drop-down list in the form which shows all the information from the first custom list in SharePoint. Once I choose an item I click on the submit button and I get information using the repeating table feature and some rules for the second list (which is an external list on SharePoint).
However, now when I choose another item from the drop-down list I do not need to click on the submit button.
Is there a way where I can fresh the query connection so that the user has to click on the submit button for each search?
