Qrules Submit to SP List error

    Hi,

I get the following error when I submit the form QC2010, attached, WHEN PUBLISHED but not in preview.

Action: SubmitToSharePointList. Arguments: submit: defectslistsubmit  mapping: qcmappingv2  . Details: Security Exception - please check security requirements for this command.

I attach another form where I use qrules to submit to a different list and it works fine both in preview and when published,

    Can you assist please?

Hi - are you using the form in filler or in the browser? What version of InfoPath? If in browser, what version of SharePoint? I see only one form attached - can you also attach to another reply the form that is working in your enviro?

If you look at your working form, you'll see in the QdabraRules data source, on the finishedLoading node, a rule that sets the useWebServices attribute to true. Add that rule to your form that is not working. That will force the form to use web services for the submit (like it does in preview) instead of using the SharePoint Object Model, which is causing a security exception in your environment.

     Hi Hilary,

    Thats great. That worked.

I do not recall doing that on my JAS form but then I did it a long time ago. Again thanks.

My remaining query with the form that was not working and now is, QC2010, is that the success node is already ticked when I open the form. If I clear it and then submit it fills in correctly.

Why is it ticked on opening and how can I prevent this?

     Regards

I'm not sure I understand the question. I see you have some other qRules commands in the form - those will set success to true when they succeed. You shouldn't have to clear the success node to submit.

Re: Qrules Submit to SP List error

     Hi Hilary,

I guessed that might be the reason.

What I am trying to get is clear confirmation for the user that the form has submitted successfully.

Can I use the default success message that is with Infopath? I thought I could not anymore once using qrules to submit and hence the success node being used.

I really only want the node to check on a successful qrule submission and not when prior qrules run.

     Regards

Use multiple rules and a helper field in a secondary data source XML file. Put this field on the form instead.

    1. Submit with your qRules command
    2. Check the value of the success node
    3. If success = true, set helper field message to "Submit succeeded"
    4. If success = false, set helper field message to "Submit failed" and include the info in the Error node.

Since it is in a secondary data source XML file, it will be set back to its default of blank every time the form is opened.
