    Transaction log with reconciling capabilities

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

I have created a sharepoint list that the agency uses as a purchase order request and log.  At the end of each month I am required to reconcile the purchases to the statement received from the credit card company. There are a couple of things that need to happen during this process:

    1.  The Status column needs to change to "Reconciled" or "Partial Reconciled"

    2.  If partially reconciled then the amount needs to reflect how much of the purchase request was reconcilied.

    3.  Since sometimes the purchase request is not filled in full I can't just change the amount on the original request, that would negate the actual obligation so I need to copy all the information from that row into a new document (called reconciled statement) and update some of the information on the sharepoint list.

I tried doing this by creating a document library and then creating a form with repeating tables.  On the form I put two buttons labeled reconciled and Partial with a rule to update the Status column on the sharepoint list but I do not know how to have that information saved to a Reconciled Statement document.  I don't just want to save the form to the library because the repeating table sows everything in the list that has not been reconciled.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I have been teaching myself infopath and sharepoint so I don't know all the jargon.  Thank you.

I covered techniques for copying data from a list form to an InfoPath form in my July 11th webinar.

To copy data back from your InfoPath form to the list you can use CAML or qRules. Both techniques are codeless, but qRules is a plugin that you will have to install (it's easier than CAML though to configure). Check out the Jan 31 webinar by Jo-Anne for an example of a CAML technique (also March 7th webinar package has CAML samples for Expense Reports). The May 9th webinar shows how to use qRules to map to multiple lists, but the downloads link above also has a specific how-to document describing the same. Click on qRules and look for a SubmitToSharePointList tag and you'll find a couple docs.

Video links and webinar packages can be found be found here: http://www.qdabra.com/en/training/trainingvideo.aspx

Send me email if you need more help.
