    Need help on understanding formula syntax in Infopath 2010 rule

    Hello,

    I've inherited an Infopath form and I'm having trouble understanding a rule that the developer put in place.  The rule is set up on a drop down list box field so that when a user chooses a cost center, the rule sets an Approver value for that cost center.  There is a secondary data source set up to look into the Approver list, but I'm just not clear on what this means.  I've googled this and haven't been able to find anything, so any help or pointers to places where this syntax is described would be much appreciated.

     Here's the statement:

    @Approver[@Account = CostCenter and @step = 1]

    Thanks.

    This is getting the @Approver from the secondary data source where in the same row, the @Account field has the same value as another field named "CostCenter" AND in the same row, the @step field is equal to 1.

    Click the edit XPath box in the formula editor to display the full XPath and paste that in a reply and I can tell you more about the formula if needed.

    XPath is fun - here is one place to start learning more: http://zvon.org/xxl/XPathTutorial/Output/examples.html (for some reason the color coding on these examples helps me visualize the outcome better).
