Infopath Binding / Repeating Sharepoint List

     All,

After spending hours discovering the disadvantages of Document Libraries, I discovered repeating lists in SharePoint.  However, I need to create some fields that are not repeating in my InfoPath form.  I am (attempting to create) a timesheet - non repeating fields being totals for the employee's reference, ect.

How to I create the node needed to have unbound fields in my InfoPath form.  Or can I do this?

Is possible to link these into the repeating list?  For example an employee ID with each item.

     Thanks,

    Kent

By the sound of it you'd a Section for your Employee Name,Department,Job Title,Manager etc.

You'll need a data connection  which can reference your employees and their employee id. Then one of your fields in your repeating table can be filtered by your employee id.

All, Thanks for the response. I have executed this - a data connection with drop down lists. However, they must be repeating - I want these to not be in the repeating table. A better example might be a totals at the bottom of a timesheet to show regular and overtime total hours for the week. How can I get these fields to populate w/o being bound to a field in the repeating list? Thanks - hope this makes it clearer. Kent
