Populating a field using SharePoint list views

OK so I have a form that will use 9 different brands. I've built the form from a custom list and created 9 SharePoint filtered views for each brand. There is a Nintex workflow that fires according to what brand the user chooses on the form. The problem is the user now wants that field filled out when they click on the filtered view (they're nested in the global navigation of the site) so the question is can I set up a query on the form that can will fill out the brand field by querying the URL? If not a view then perhaps a page?

Unfortunately, for list forms, you cannot get input parameters.

Here's an idea: create a dummy row for each of the brands. You can add links at the top of the page to those brands. When they open, they see the filled in data. When they submit, it creates a new item.

That's a pretty clever idea thanks Patrick!
