Hi,

 I am having a form which needs to retreive workemail of an user. The scenario is like this.

I have one textbox named as "AccountName" and another textbox as "Email".

I have one data connection which is calling userprofileservice.asmx(Method Name is : GetUserProfileByName).

No i want to pass the value that is there in "AccountName" textbox to GetUserProfileByName web service method and get the emai.

How can i pass the "AccountName" to the data connection without writing any code.

Please help me if anybody know this. It would be greatful.

This can be done quite easily without code. Just add a rule to copy the value of your AccountName field to the AccountName field in the GetUserProfileByName data connection, and then query the data connection. This could either be a rule on the AccountName field itself, or on a button if that makes more sense in your scenario.

 Thanks for your reply. I tried the same in my form.

1. Assigned the control value to AccountName filed in the getuserbyname method.

2. Used the query using dataconnection.

But it didn't work. It seems that i am doing some mistake in my implementation.

Is it possible for you to post a step throgh here. It will be helpful so much to me as i didn't find any post on the interenet.

It could be helpful to others also.

    Could you explain what you mean when you say "it didn't work"? Did you get an error? Did the web service return no results?
