qrules - DateDiff - Use on more than one list?

    Hi,

Say we look at Australia - many states with different movable holidays celebrated at different times.

One calendar list isn't going to be able to accomidate a user from another state using the same leave application infopath form on the same libray - is there?

How could I successfully use one list that qrules looks up to filter (ah now there is an idea - but how?) out States and use the list to calulate a holiday?

How would you go about using one form to look at a list where different states celebrate a holiday at different times , yet be able to use qrules date diff to get the actual days on hoilday?

Cheers - my mind is whacked on this.

    Best Regards

What version of IP / ShP? If 2010, there are query fields in the list data connections. You'd want to add a column for State to your Holiday list, then in your query, you would set the State query field to the correct state for the user and then execute the query. If IP 2007, you can use the qRules FilterOwssvr command to the same effect, returning only the correct holidays for the user to the form. Make sense?

    Thank you Hilary.

IP / Shp are both 2010, so I will use the query.

Thank you - very very much apreciated.

    Hi Hilary,

Got myself confused. All sounded clear - now not sure.

I have "Australian Public Holidays (Secondary)

Query and Data fields of : Date(dd/mm/yyyy), NSW, VIC, WA, QLD, ACT, SA, ID.

    ID is the ID

I have the qRules as follows:

    concat("DateDiff /date1=", my:EndDate, " /date2=", my:startDate, " /component=weekdays /dsnamehol=AustralianHolidays /xpathhol=/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:SharePointListItem_RW/d:Date_x0028_dd_x002f_mm_x002f_yyy")

The date field contains all holidays and each of the fields/columns NSW, VIC, WA, QLD, ACT, SA has a check if that state uses that holiday.

Xmas day 25th December would have a check in all fields, where as say Melbourne cup day is only checked in the VIC column..

First field on the form has, choose which state you are based in - thus if New South Wales - NSW is chosen.

Once selected, the groups to gather information show - so no selection - no information gathering groups.

So I want to filter all hoildays with NSW column checked and use the date in the Date(dd/mm/yyyy) column and jump over those that are not NSW.

Do I use the Query Fields and filter (Secondary) of Australian Public Holidays and how?

Or Have I just got things a wee bit confused as to how to go abaout it?

    Thank you.

    Best Regards
    Bill
