Data Connection issue using UDCX to SQL Server

I'm having some trouble with users connection to our SQL Server database using InfoPath. The forms were originally published to our production site and data connection files were setup to our SQL Server. This worked perfectly. This week we migrated the tables to our production SQL Server database. To make this change I removed all the data connection files to my local machine and changed the Server name and initial catalog name, everything else remained the same. Once I was done I copied all the files back to SharePoint.

This appeared to have all the files checked out to me, so I deleted all the data connection files and uploaded them one by one. This appeared to fix that issue as the checked out icon is gone and it appears all files are checked in. The problem is I am the only one who can connect with the forms, all the other users get the following error message.

    InfoPath Error Message:
InfoPath cannot open a new form. The form cannot be opened. To fix this problem, contact the form designer. Form template: http://works-clinical.edu/nursing/outcomes/InfoPath%20Form%20Library/ClinicalMetricsDataEntry.xsn The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: ClinicalDropDownList InfoPath cannot run the specified query. InfoPath cannot connect to the data source. InfoPath has encountered an error. The operation failed.

Did something happen when I removed the files and then added them back? The forms themselves have not changed at all, all the file names are the same, the only change was to the connection string in the data connection file. I can post that change if it's helpful. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

This may be too little too late -

I would recreate the data connections from a new form (or the same one) and then convert them to UDCX files again. Put those files in the same location and then either modify the existing data connection in your form to use the new connection file, or make entirely new data connections using the new UDCX files and reset the components on your form that draw from them. I'd at least give that a try! You also may have a need to "approve" connection files after you upload them. Check for that!

Re: Data Connection issue using UDCX to SQL Server

While attempting to do something similar with the data connection files from our testing to prod environments I noticed that when I uploaded the data connection files to prod if there were spaces in the file names they were replaced with underscores '_'.  This then wouldn't allow my form to open when it was published to prod.

So I would suggest that you check the file names of the data connection file just in case there was a similar file name error.
