    Reporting

I wuold like to be able to have a view ni my form to query data within the same document. I ahve read the HowTo on how to do this using a secondary data source. Here is an example:

I have a repeating section called "Projects"
It has another repeating section called "Tasks" within it

In another view I would like to have a dropdownlist that show a list of all Project Names and all Status of the project and any project thast I select...

    Hope that makes sense...

I'm a little confused. Does the dropdown show the list of projects, and then when you select the project below that is a repeating table showing the tasks and their status? Thx.

Ok so then what you can do is put a dropdown on that view which binds to the secondary data source so you can store the temporary selection.

The values to display in that dropdown should come from your Main Data Source Project title field (which will be in your repeating group).

Then below the dropdown you drag in the wrapping repeating section and the inner repeating task table. You then set a filter on the wrapping repeating project section to only display when the project node in there matches your secondary DOM project node selection (which the dropdown is bound to).

This will filter the projects repeating section to only the project selected in the dropdown. All the tasks within that project will be displayed in the nested repeating section/table.
