Populating a different values in calculated value fields

Populating a different values in the calculated value fields[12 fields] based on the drop down selection

    When Dropdown1 is selected a calculated value(cal1) is displayed(A)
when both dropdown 1& 2 are selected a different calculated value(cal2) is displayed(A)

    A - 12 calculated value fields

    B - 12 input fields

    Fields to populate

    1) If dropdown1 or Dropdown2 selected and record exists - Fill calculated value(cal3) in fields(A) with database entries based on the dropdown selection

    2) If dropdown1 selected and record does not exist - display calculated value(cal1) in the fields(A)

    3) if dropdown1 and dropdown2 are selected and record does not exist - display calculated value(cal2) in the fields(A)

    4) if Field3(B) on change/when entered/edited - the calculated values(cal4)  to calculate the formula with a different value in fields(A) - Do not want this rule to run unless user edits the fields. How do I stop this rule from running?

Issue - Number(4) is overwriting Number(1) and populates incorrect data which is not consistent. Please suggest a way to solve this issue.

    Thanks in advance!

There's no condition for "when user edits field". Sadly, the rule would fire when another rule changes the field's contents or when the user manually changes the field's contents.

You could add a checkbox whose default value makes the field in #4 read only.

If the user wants to edit the value in #4, then they first have to tick the checkbox.

And you could use that checkbox's value to condition when your rules will fire.

    Hope this helps!
