SharePoint (2007) does not recognize "|" as OR on an web enabled Infopath (2007) forms

Hello There I am using this expression to validate a textbox where the input is not in UTF-8 encoding. This is expression :- "[^\u0000-]|[^\u0000-]*|.*[^\u0000-].*" It provides the expected results in stand alone Infopath form but when I published this to the SharePoint site then it was throwing on any input. So I worked out that it does not like the "|" which is an OR symbol in Infopath. Is there anyway to overcome this issue? Any help will be great. Thanks in advance. Jaber

You should be able to encode a pipe symbol. We have done that before. Maybe your form isn't encoding it correctly. Can you send more details?

Hello Mark Thanks for your response. Please let me know what other information you need so that I can provide you with specific information. Just another query - Is there a way to use contains functions to use multiple value e.g. contains(., "♀"|"♪") Kind Regards Jaber

Hello Patrick Thanks for your response. I optimized my the pattern to ".*[^\u0000-].*" & now it does not require OR or a | in the pattern I am using this pattern for a multi-line text box but this work only for first lines and not for the subsequest lines. Is there a way to fix that issue? Please let me know what other information you need so that I can provide you with that specific information. Kind Regards Jaber
