Hi

I am using Infopath designer 2010.

 I am creating a table with 10 rows.

All columns are under the same headings.

A user will enter data into row one. This will then populate all the other rows (some with same data, other with rules applied) via if box1=xyz, set box 2 to equal box 1.

What i wish to do is still be able to edit the below rows once they have been popualted (from row 1).

 Can someone help please??

Hi Camilla,

You should use a rule on the field with a condition so that it only runs once. The rule sets the values based on a filter. InfoPath doesn't support this from the set action, but you can manually modify the manifest.xsf or use qRules to set rows 2-10. We've taped webinars on these techniques and have samples. I'd be more than happy to put one in our Webstore for $29 or you could just send us email.

Another approach is to use default values (which can be filtered) but they will always run which will cause them to recalculate when the fields are manually changed. Some examples of calculated values based on xpaths that are sensitive to the current row - for example "current()" or "count(../preceding-sibling::my:table)+1".

We can help you with this but it's semi-complex and the solution will be unique to your form. I recommend getting an hour of pay-as-you-go support.
