Replacing a text box with a Rich Text box

Is it possible for me to replace a controlled text box with a rich text box? My customer tells me at the last minute that she wanted the boxes to expand and not show a scroll bar. When I looked it up i realized that rich text boxes make the boxes expand once they have entered a lot of text. When I attempted to do replace them, I got mulitple errors that they were unbound???!!! Can you help please? Or do I have do the inevitable and make a new form??

Well, the node's data type is different. A textbox is string and a rich text box is Rich Text (XHTML). So you would first need to make the change in the schema to update the data type, then change the control on the canvas, then reapply any formatting that was lost by the change.

I don't think you need a new form, but save a copy of your current form as you make these changes in case you need to return to a previous version.

I figured this out. I wasn't keeping the original format of the text boxes, I was increasing them in size on my template. So when I entered in data it gave me scroll bars. But when I left them at the orginal format, they started expanding with no scroll bars. Thanks so much for responding!!
