    InfoPath Form For Sharepoint List

I have a InfoPath form that I use to enter data into a Sharepoint 2010 list.  My users need to submit multiple records in a short period of time so I set the form up with a Submit button at the bottom of the form with rules that 1) submit the data to SP 2) clear the form for the next record.  My issue is that on after the first submission, rather than creating a new record each time, it just overwrites the previous one.

I'm wondering how to get InfoPath to submit the record without making the users close and reopen the form with each new record?

    Thanks

I assume you are using a SharePoint list form? How about using a New Record button then? If you add a button, you'll have an option to change the action - select New Record. This button clears the entire form (including the ID that tells you which item to update/submit) ready to submit a new list item.

I'd say add two buttons - Submit and New Record and then conditionally hide each based on the action that needs to be done:

    • Hide the Submit button if the ID field is not blank - meaning a new item had just been submitted.
    • Hide the New Record button if the ID field is blank - as soon as this button is clicked, ID will be set to blank, button gets hidden and will show the Submit button instead.

    Does that make sense?

Ah, great.  I didn't know about the New Record button.  Thanks for the help.
