Check In/Check OUt Template Publishing Error

     Hi...

I am getting this error: The form template was created with a newer version of InfoPath.  This form template was created by InfoPath version....

I have a site that i initially had a form published in Infopath 2007 (compatibility says "Web Browser Form (Infopath 2007).  The upgraded form (same form, but added Check In/Check Out template piece) was  published in Infopath 2010 Compatibility was set to Web Browser Form .

The customer's issue is they are getting the error -  "The form template was created with a newer version of InfoPath.  This form template was created by InfoPath version..."

    How do I fix this?

I don't understand your post. Is the form not opening in the browser, but opening in filler instead? That is the only time I've seen the form version error - I wouldn't expect to see it in the browser.

Re: Check In/Check OUt Template Publishing Error

well i have two forms templates.... v3.0 (created in 2007) and what the customer is using now....   i updated the form (saved & published in Infopath 2010) which is called v3.0-COCI.   When I publish the updated form, I have the user see if she can open the already submitted forms (submitted with v3.0) in the SP form library with the published form.  She gets the error.......  The form template was created with a newer version of InfoPath.  This form template was created by InfoPath version 14.0.0

the major difference between the two form templates is I have the Check In/ Check Out part added.   so in summary, she can open the already existing submitted forms with the v3.0 form template.  When i publish the updated form, she gets the error.

So, this is in the browser?

You cannot open an XML created with an IP 2007 form in the browser with the new IP 2010 template?

How is the form published? I'm assuming this must be a ShP 2010 site, since the form is a 2010 browser form. Is it published directly to a library?

yes i publish it the same way...... to the Sharepoint Library.  Yes, it is also a SP 2010 site.   follow the publish wizard just like with the 2007 forms........

I just have a hard time understanding how an XML created with IP 2007 would fail to open in the browser with an IP 2010 form. When you try to open the existing XML, do they open in the browser for you successfully?

yes it opens the forms for me in the web browser.....   you think she is opening these forms with Infopath client itself?  Maybe she is still using client 2007 to open a browser form?  Can a person even do that?  I am reaching  here..... I dont know.

Well, yes, I think for some reason the form is opening in client for her and that is why it won't open - she has IP 2007 installed. Can you find out?
