    SharePoint/InfoPath Date Incompatability

Using SharePoint 2010's "Customize Form" button to access InfoPath, I am trying to set a Date column. Essentially, I want to set the value to today plus some number of days. Using the Property box's fx button to set the Date Picker's default value to be "addDays(today(), SLA)" visually gives a valid value of, say, 2012-11-28 when the form is used. But the Date Picker has the dashed red border indicating it is a bad value. The SharePoint column is a Date only field. Using the picker button in the form to select a date works but defeats the purpose of automatically calculating this value. What am I doing wrong, or what should I be doing instead? I suppose I can store the SLA part as a SharePoint field and then do the calculation there, but I was hoping to do it once, not twice. Thanks for any suggestions! Richard

I think SharePoint stores a time even though the field is set to Date only.

Try addDays(now(),SLA) instead. This should append a timestamp too and SharePoint should accept the value.

That fixed it, thanks! (In one of my other attempts, I actually did try appending "T00:00:00" to the generated value, but that didn't work...)
