Binding, Concatenating, and Allowing for Multi-Selection

    Hi all!

I am creating my first InfoPath form which is linked to an external data source (SharePoint).  I am trying to create a Multiple-Selection List Box in which each selection would be comprised of 3 sepearte fields in SharePoint (name, sub-name, etc.).  Is it possible to concatenate these 3 fields and then somehow bind the Multiple-Selection List Box to this?  If not, would it be possible to create a table that is comrpised of 3 columns, but allow the user to selection the row rather than each data field?  I hope explained myself well enough and I look forward to any ideas/suggestions you may have.

     Thanks!!

    Hi LGentile11 and welcome!

Yes, you can create a table with three columns of data and then merge the columns into one cell in the view and replace the fields with a button that has a calculated value set to the concatenation of said columns. Clicking on the button sets a yes-no "selected" field (4th column) and that field can be used to change the color or background to show selection of the item. The button should be formatted so it doesn't look like a button - remove border and change color to same as background. Then, they just click anywhere on the row and the button will set the "selected" field. You need to have two rules - one to set it and one to deselect it if it's already set. Should be fun to set up. Definitely post it here so others can benefit.
