Here's what I tried but didn't work: I have a browser based InfoPath form to collect all kinds of fun stuff. At the bottom of the form, there is a Finish button which triggers the submit action. Before the finish, I have a drop down (say session) with two values - "save" and "submit". I setup a rule to say when session = "save" set the document library custom column called 'Status' = Draft and when session ="submit", then 'Status' =Submitted. This way, the users can continue to update form over multiple session and I plan on using the 'status'='submitted' value to trigger an email to notify the admins who are monitoring the incoming submitted forms. The only problem: The rule doesn't really seem to update the list column value at all. I guess I'm just looking for some way to trigger what the user intends to do but having a hard time updating column. I hope I'm missing something or there is a better approach to this.
Any suggestion? I'm happy to try a completely different approach if I'm going in the wrong direction. Appreciate any input here. Thank you, community!
