    Need explanation

    Hi all,

I have an InfoPath form created with MS Visual Studio (c#) and as a secondary data source a connection to a SQL database. The checkbox to automatically retrieve data for the data connection is disabled. To keep it simple let's say I have one textbox and one dropdown list in my form. first the user enters a number into the textbox and then selects a machine from the ddl. In an OnAfterChange event of the ddl I then query the database based on these two values. Everything works perfect and the values are populated within my repeating table. BUT if I want to do something similar in a SECOND view via a ButtonEvent it absoluty happens nothing. What is happening here. Actually I thought it would be enough to have the same repeating table (capturing the data form the database) from the first view in the second view and the data would be transmitted.
Hope I made my self clear, if not don't hesitate to ask I really need to get this up and running.

The data doesn't change from view to view. Views are just visual representions of the same data. So if the data shows in the repeating table in view 1, and then you switch to view 2 with a repeating table bound to the same nodes, it should show there too.

It sounds like what might be happening, is that in view 1 you are querying and seeing data, but when you are in view 2, you have not yet, and have no way to query the data.

If you query in view 1 and then switch views immediately after getting your table filled, and view 2 doesn't have data in the table, then something is wrong with the table--its not bound to the same nodes as the table in view 1.
