    function/formula explanation

    awhile back I used this formula /  function explanation... but i never fully understood it and would like to now....

     substring(eval(eval((AcrossGeneration | AnimalFeedingStudy | Bioefficacy | CEA | CEAProcessing | ConfinedFieldTrial | DeclineTrialACUP | DeclineTrialByproductsACUP | DetectionMethodMolecular | EfficacyCPRD | EnvironmentalFieldStudy | Expression | HerbicideTolerance | MagnitudeOfResidueACUP | MethodDevelopment | MolecularBridging | NatureOfResidueACUP | NTO | ProcessingACUP | ProteinEquivalency | RACByproductsTrialACUP | ReferenceMaterial | USDAAgronomicYieldTrials | WithinGeneration)[. != ""], 'concat(", ", .)'), ".."), 3)

    my field names are in the middle of course but I was hoping to understand the beginning and the ending parts because i am trying to use this again(with a lot more fields).....  But i keep getting an error that the field is not found.......

    1.) substring(eval(eval((

    2.) . != ""], 'concat(", ", .)'), ".."), 3)

    cnorris135:

    1.) substring(eval(eval((

    2.) . != ""], 'concat(", ", .)'), ".."), 3)

    substring(someString, 3) - takes substring starting from 3d one, i.e. truncates 2 first symbols

    So, for example, the result of  substring("123456789", 3) will be 3456789

    [.!= ""] means that previous fields in parenthesis are evaluated under condition (filtered) that the current field not blank

    Double eval trick is explained  in:
