I have a site that is available to both internal and external users using the External Collaboration Toolkit. Internal users are automatically logged in and external users go to the extended version of the site to log in using forms based authentication against an ADAM database. I was intending to use the available Share Point web server "GetUserProfileByName" to pull in some values into my form. Everything works perfect for my internal users. For external users, the function "username" does not generate a value. When looking at the profile of the external user while logged in, you see "Account, Name and WorkEmail" as populated fields. Is there any way to query SharePoint to see this information? The external users log in using their email address. The email address also shows up in the "Created By" field in the document library in which the form is submitted.
