    InfoPath Submit to Access

Hoping someone on here can give me a couple pointers on an InfoPath form that I have a data connection to an access database to submit the form data to. I have never used InfoPath, so I've been learning as I go, so bear with me here...

My quesiton is around how InfoPath decides when to create a new record vs when to update an existing record when you submit the form to Access. My assumption was that if the primary key in Access (three fields, in this case) was the same, it would bomb out saying that it already existed, and if the PK didn't match, it would create a new record.

However, I'm finding something different... it seems like after clicking submit on a form, it links that form to the record in the Access database, because I've tried to change the data and resubmit and it just updates the existing record - I've tried changing almost every single field on the form and it still just updates the initial record it created.

The reason this concerns me is because I know I'll have people that will reuse the same form and change the details to their liking before sending it to me, and that would be disasterous if it just overwrote that user's last submission.

Is there a way to stop this from happening? Force it to always create a new record and just give me the duplicate record error if the PKs are the same?

    Thanks,
    Bill
