Problem connecting to SQL Server 2005 and 2008

I am getting really issues when in VSTA I try to connect to a SQL 2008 DB and I get the following error:

Unable to add dataconnection.  Failed to retrieve data for this request.  The SQL Server version (10.0) is not supported.

When I try to connect to SQL 2005 it say the connection string is incorrect.

    COuld someone please assist.  Thanks

Could you clarify what you mean when you say you're trying to connect to SQL Server in VSTA?  Are you not using InfoPath's data connections to connect to the database?

I am using the data connection wizard in VSTA, which I get to by using the the edit code button in infopath.  I am not connecting through The Inforpath Template data management.  Hope that helps.
