Repeating Section causing workflow to error

Hi. I've done a quick search, but couldn't seem to find something similar to my problem. I am new to infopath/sharepoint, so hopefully this will just be something small and easy I am missing :-)

I have created 2 sharepoint lists for recording money transfers within our company. The first list contains individual transactions that have been made, and the second list contains totals of this data, seperated into months.

Because we enter multiple transactions at once, I have made an infopath form for the first list that has 3 fields (Who transfered, How much and date) in a repeating section to enable us to enter as many transactions as needed.

My problem is that when the workflow I have set up to write to the second list runs when the items are created. Because multiple items are creatd at once, this causes the workflow to error on some of the items, and not write to the second list.
Is there a way to stop this error occuring and have all items write to the list successfully?

Thanks for any help in advance,
    Jason

    Hi Jason,

AFAIK writing multiple items to a single list can be tricky using workflow.  What is the error you are getting exactly?

Have you considered trying to use third party tools to do this?  There are some libraries you can use that will do this quite easily.  Here is an example with more info: http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/qrules/entry49216.aspx

    Hi Anson,

The error that I get is " The Workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information" with the outcome "Unknown Error".

The only problem is that I'm writing numbers to a number field, and text to a text field, and it only happens on some items, so I know that they are writing to the correct columns.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can stop this behaviour? I have run out of ideas completely. Realistically, I only need the last item entered into the form to run the workflow, but I dont know how this can be achieved.
