Filtering Multi-Select IP Fields/Cascading Dropdowns after Promotion to Sharepoint

    Hi all,

I'm guessing this has come up a million times before, but I can't find a post about it - and am in a time crunch.  I have a number of multi-select or cascading dropdown fields in my IP 2010 form.  The form is published, and submits to, a 2007 MOSS sharepoint (no form services, excel services, etc. enable due to IT restricting them).  Is there a work around via IP, sharepoint, sharepoint designer or nintex workflows that can enable filtering on those multi-select/cascading dropdown fields?  The one option we used to edit other fields with workflows only worked because the fields could be promoted as editable in SP, but that option doesn't exist for either of these field types.  I'm stumped, and really would like to avoid using single check boxes (and can't in some situations due to 2ndary data sources).

I'm promoting them as merged fields, which of course shows up as multi line text fields which I can't filter either in an SP view or create a view that groups based on those choices.  A few of these items (organization impacted or request type, for instance) are integral pieces of information that I need to be able to filter on for groups who work the requests coming in.

Is there a solution/workaround out there that can get me the filtering options I'm looking for from multi-selection/cascading dropdown fields?

    Thanks!

    Jen

Not sure if this will help, but here is a video tutorial on how cascading dropdowns work in InfoPath: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH7xUEcQwwg

So is your problem that the field type cannot be promoted?  Repeating fields can only be promoted as first, last or merge.  There isn't an option to promote them individually.
