InfoPath Dev

So, I will admit, I do not fully understand the capabilities of InfoPath, or the best way to achieve what I want.  All I know is, I have been struggling with this for a while now. So any help is greatly appreciated.

Basically, I have a lookup field (dropdown named region/date/team).  What I want to do is when this look up field contains "West-12/1/2012 - ABC-Playbook" I want to make another field (Team) set to "ABC-Playbook"

 I thought that I could do this with an action rule saying Region/Date/Team > Contains > "ABC-Playbook"

Then Set Field Team to ABC-Playbook

This has been really frustrating for me, any thoughts?

Solved It ! . . .

Rule: region/date/time field > 1

Action: Set Field - Team = substring-before(string(Region_x002f_Team), string(" - "))

 Where region is the region/date/time title field not the ID field - I had a " - " in the string that i searched for
