Hello all,

I am using some simple OOB workflows in a form library. when users assign task to a person that will send an email notification to the person,

The person can see 1) Edit this task option in email notification and

                                  2) Edit this task option on top of infopath document

They can edit the task from these options which directs them to a window and when they reassign this task to other person, they are getting an email notification but they cannot edit the task from there email notification and infopath document.

when they click ' Edit this task' option in their email, they are getting 'This task could not be updated at this time' message. and

when they click ' Edit this task' option from the infopath document link it is doing nothing.

but when they go to workflow tasks list, they can edit the task.

i want them to edit the task from the email nofication or from infopath document, please help me to solve this issue, any suggestions can help.

Hi,

I don't know how you're adding the "Edit this task" link but it might be help if you could check where that link is pointing to. Or perhaps double check your workflow settings?

Thank you for your reply, the 'Edit this task' button will be a default option for the workflow notification, it will be in the top left corner of the email (ribbon), which will let us edit the task from there. if we open infopath document for which a task assigned to us, we can see a bar on top of the infopath document which will show 'Edit this task' option. that is working for all tasks except the delegated tasks ( reassigned tasks).

Hi - sorry I'm not familiar on using the Task workflow. But it might worth it to check the permissions or roles of users who received the task reassignment - see if they do have enough permissions to edit the task. Or - since you mentioned that the "Edit this task" button is in the email ribbon, I'm starting to think that the problem could also be related to your Outlook installation.
