    USERNAME() conditional formatting issue !!!!

    So I have a relatively simple form that has 6 sections

    Users fill in the form section by section and at the end of section 5 they submit the form to their approver (manager) specifying their NT userID for approval

    Their manager receives a form with section 6 now showing because there is a conditional rule that says if form section is > than '5' AND Approver (the login id specified by the submitter)  does not = USERNAME() hide section 6

    In other words only a specified approver can approvet the form.

    For me the form works 100% no issues and also for the majority of other users. but there are a few for who they dont get to see section 6, in other words their approver name ( for which the submitter has specified there login ID and an authentication check has occured returning Full Name of the approver) does nto match the InfoPathForms USERNAME().

    Am I mising something about the USERNAME field ? is it not the current logged on user or something? Can't see why it works for some and not others, as yet no common denominator detected.

     Help appreciated.

    I would check whether case sensitivity matters in your scenario. I've seen cases in InfoPath where it does. i.e. username is JSmith and the form has jsmith.

     Hi,

    Sometime might be there is a problem of Domain, just check out the user name display for the users who were log in. With the USERNAME() function you can find only the user name not the Domain controller name.

    So check out that things first, you can see their login detail name at the top right it will display DOMAIN\USERNAME or only the USERNAME.

    Hope this can help you out.

    Best Regards

    Shailesh
