    Trouble registering forms from install.js

Regardless of run as administator or not, we keep getting the error "an error occured while attempting to register the form: The following form template cannot be registered: C:\Program Files\Qdabra Software\Qdabra Rules\ Library (trial version)\Forms\qrulesForm.xsn   access is denied"

If I try to open any of the forms with Infopath Designer 2010 I get "the file "C:\Program Files\Qdabra Software\Qdabra Rules\ Library (trial version)\Forms\qrulesForm.xsn" is currently in use.  Do you want to open a read-only copy  instead?"

    Hi-

I'm sorry for the first error. Is it possible that there is an InfoPath window open or an Infopath.exe process running in the background? You can check this in Task Manager.

In the User Guide there are two sets of steps, one via the Start Menu links and another set of steps via command line. Can you try these after making sure there are no infopath.exe processes?

    Thank you.

We did try both options.  I did save off the Infopath to Sharepoint List Tool via infopath designer, and found what is probably a show stopper:  the Extract Schemas button looks lie it requires full trust to work correctly, however  the group policy for the network will not allow forms with full trust.  Is there any workaround for this, such as hardcoding the tool so that it will only work with a single form?

Ok, I understand. These are full trust forms thus why the installation is failing.

You can right click on the form, select Design, and then click Preview. Will that be an acceptable workaround?

Tried that also, but the form has to be taken out of full trust to even preview; once that happens, the Extract Schema button errors, becuase it needs full trust. Trying to see if we can get the group policy disabled long enough to run the sharepoint list tool one time

Hi - the reason the button requires full trust is because it is accessing the local file system. Basically, it extracts the form template files so that it can use the schema file.

There isn't going to be a work around with the current version of the template, I'm afraid - we should probably keep this in mind as a future improvement.

You can hand create your mapping file, if you need to. You'll need to know how to get your SharePoint list GUID, and the internal column names. You'll also need to know the XPaths to your form nodes. I can get you a sample mapping if this sounds like an option for you.

Please send me a sample mapping, just in case disabling the group policy setting doesn't work

    Hello,

I'm running into the same issue. The install.js fails and the mapping tool cannot be accessed. Does that mean qRules does not work with Win 7??? Is there a workaround?

     cheers, Ingeborg

Thanks Ernesto. I've posted some updates in my other thread.
