    Getting Row with rule

Is there a way to get the row count of the query action without using code?

You could use the count() function provided in the Insert Formula dialog for a node.

Great - thanks so much - that was very easy and I feel pretty stupid fpr missing it.
Now that I know when I have data in a query, I want to be able to trigger the creation of place holder row that just has key fields if the the query has row count of zero returned.
I have a rule that sets the key fields values and submits, but it tells me "The form does not contain any new data to submit to the data source."
I believe the problem is related to fact that the section has not been inserted yet, but I set the values so I didn't think that mattered. Any Idea on how to make this work.
