InfoPath Dev

I'm using the GetProfileByUsername service to grab the user's FirstName and LastName (as well as some other data).  It works great, except that sometimes it returns inconsistent FirstName data.  For example, sometimes it will return the name Deborah, and other times it will return Debbie, both for the same user.  It's not a deal-breaker, as I can create workarounds for the problems it causes, but the inconsistency bothers me, and I don't understand why it happens. 

 Any thoughts?

I have no idea.

You could install our Active Directory Web Service - it doesn't do this and it also fills a number of other gaps with GetProfilebyUsername.
