Odd behavior with unselecting cascade Multiple-Selection List Boxes

I have two lists of multiple-selection list boxes, the values of first list would be used to filter and populate the second list. the behavior of them are acceptable until when one day when I bind the second list 's Value and Dsplay Name to different fields of a data connection.

For example, we have product category in the first list, and in the second list I have Product Name in Display Name and SKU in the Value; when I select certain categories, the product names of these categories would populate the second list of check boxes. Problem arised when I uncheck some of the categories, and in the second list, instead of showing a check box following by Product Name, it would be showing check box following by SKU itself instead!

Any one else experience this before? what would be your work around? Thanks

That behavior does sound odd.  I would first just triple check that you have the display name and value set correctly in the second list.  Perhaps there is something with the MSLB control that is acting up.  Try using other controls such as lists, dropdowns, etc. to see if the problem still exists. Otherwise, if it was working without the data connection perhaps you could revert to that behavior instead.
