    Conditional Submit

    Scenario:

    Have a form that a user will fill out to request access to various IT applications. After filling out personal information name, office, telephone # etc. there are a series of check boxes that the user can check to request access to various applications.
    On my form, I do have a submit button at the bottom of the form. When the user clicks on the Submit button, I have rules set up that checks which checkboxes(s) have been checked and emails are sent to the appropriate individuals depending on which boxes are checked.

    What I'm trying to figure out is how to handle either of the following:

    1. The Submit button is not enabled unless one of the Check boxes is checked or
    2. When the user clicks on the Submit button, if at least one of the check boxes is not checked, a message is displayed alerting the user to check one of the boxes and the Submit process is cancelled and the focus is returned to the form so the user can check one or more of the checkboxes.

    For number 1, you should be able to add conditional formatting on the submit button that disables it until at least one check box is checked. The conditional formatting will like this like:

    field1 = false AND
    field2 = false AND
    field3 = false AND
    ...
    Disable this control

    For adding more than five conditional statements to a control, check out this thread:http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1725

    I'm not sure what you're asking on question 2, it sounds like just another way to accomplish the same thing, is this right?

    Maybe look at this thread:http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1668

    Another good idea might be to put a little expression box below the Submit button so you can inform the user why the button is disabled. You would put the same conditional formatting on the expression box, and just set it with an informative message.
