    Copy List Item

    Hi,

I have 2 infopath 2010 forms and need to copy list items from 1 form to the other. I have used SharePoint Designer 2010 and am able to get the list items from 1 form to the other but the problem is that the "filename" of the first form copies over to the second form. When I try to edit the copied item, it opens in the source form.

Please help as i want the item to open in the second form when edited.

The completed XML will contain the link to the template it was created with. In a form library (sorry - when you say list items, do you mean submitted XML in a form library?) you can select the relink view and link the XML to that library's template. I'm not sure if you can do the same in a workflow - you may want to do some web searches and see if anyone has blogged about this.

Thanks, I have searched the blogs to no avail. Sorry, yes I was referring the the XML submitted to the form library. Please can you elaborate on "relink view and link XML to that librarys template"

In your form library, you can select a view named "Relink" - it is a default view available in form libraries. It allows you to relink an XML file with the template for the library. I'm not sure if there is a way to do that via workflow, however.
