    Connect to SQL database in different domain

    when I access my Infopath document in Sharepoint, I receive the following error: The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server. Log ID:5566 .udcx file ----> BUILDINGS Format: UDC V2; Connection Type: Database; Purpose: ReadOnly; Generated by Microsoft InfoPath 2010 on 2011-12-14 at 15:05:16 by domain\userName. Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=True;Initial Catalog=DATABASE_NAME;Data Source=SERVER_NAME\DATABASE_NAME;Use Procedure for Prepare=1;Auto Translate=True;Packet Size=4096;Use Encryption for Data=False;Tag with column collation when possible=False select "BUILDINGS_ID","BLDG_DESC" from "dbo"."BUILDINGS" as "BUILDINGS" Specify a filename or formula DOMAIN\USERID PASSWORD Am I missing something within my file, or is this just a trust relationship error between the different domains?

    Is this a client or browser form?  If this is a client form, then the local user account must be in a domain trusted by the domain which the sql server resides.  A browser form can be configured to use SharePoint SSO or explicit credentials to access the SQL Server.

    Browser, I have the included udc file, in my initial post, stored on the SharePoint server in the DataSources library. This would be explicit credentials, correct?

    Explicit credentials require using the Authentication/UseExplicit element in the .udcx

    Example:

    <udc:Authentication>

    <udc:UseExplicit CredentialType="NTLM">

        <udc:UserId>domain\user</udc:UserId>

        <udc:Password>mYpAssWorD1</udc:Password>

    </udc:UseExplicit>

    </udc:Authentication>

    Using SSO is a better option, as it is more secure since the credentials are not exposed using plain text.

    You can find details regarding UDC files at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms772017.aspx

    If I use Single Sign On across domains, and the user passwords are different, do you know if that would that cause a problem?

    I was just looking over my initial post and realized that the authentication piece was left out, I apologize, (neewbie). I was using the UseExplicit CredentialType when I received the error. I recreated the .udc file using SSO: this isn't working for me either, and that's why I asked the previous question.
