GetMyInfo - An error occured while trying to connect to a Web service

I have an administrator approved web enabled form in SharePoint 2010 that is exhibiting some very strange behavior. When the form is opened I get the 'An error occured querying a data source', An error occurred while trying to connect to a Web service. The Log id is: 5566. So far I have been unable to find the correlation id in the logs on any of the front end servers or the sql server so I dont' have any additional data. I have a qdabra data connection pulling from AD. It is used to set 2 hidden fields with the 'GetMyInfo' parameter. These fields are used as comparison values to determine if each of 3 hidden sections should be shown to the user. I also have other data connections (GetUserProfileName, GetCommonManager) When the form is opened by me (form creator, farm admin) the standard user information data connections work and populate the fields but 2 of the hidden sections are shown and the 3rd is hidden. When the form is opened by an end user the hidden sections are hidden but none of the data is populated. My hidden fields are approver and eligible. I have a submitter field that is populated by the GetuserProfileName piece. the hidden sections compare the submitter field to the approver and eligible fields and if they are equal then the sections stay hidden. It doesn't make any sense that one section is hidden correctly and the others aren't especially since the one that is hidden as required has the same rule as one of the ones not working. I have ensured that both the data connection library and the form library are set to open browser enabled forms in the browser and that all of the necessary form service options are selected. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi - you checked the SharePoint logs on the server? Generally found here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS

Rather than try to trouble shoot based on your conditional formatting, you may want to temporarily drag the data sources in question onto the form and see what is being populated.

Yes, I have checked the logs on all the servers and cannot match the correlation id to any entry. Nothing is being populated into the fields. That is the problem. As soon as the form is open there is a data connection error.

Update- Found the error in the logs. It's an authorization error to the getmyinfo connection. So what do I need to do to ensure that all users who would access this form have authority to access this information? J

I'm not sure - I've let a couple other team members know about the issue, so someone with a bit more knowledge on the matter than I have should post soon.

    Hi Juli,

I would suggest checking the application pools on the server where DBXL and SharePoint are installed.

DBXL has its own application pool on the server. Please check which identity it is using.

Then check the SharePoint - 80 app pool (assuming that DBXL has been installed on the SharePoint - 80 site). Which identity is the SharePoint - 80 app pool using?

DBXL encounters issues if the DBXL and SharePoint-80 app pools are using different identities. The solution is to modify the DBXL app pool to use the same identity as the SharePoint-80 app pool.

Please let us know if you need additional information. Thank you.

More info. After finally finding the correlation ID in the logs we found that it was an authorization issue. The data connection is pointing to a pool address and qdabra was only installed on one of the servers. So if the form was hitting a different server it gave an error. We are in the process of getting it on all of the servers.
