    Linking Infopath to Excel

    Hi,

As a very new user of Infopath, could anyone tell me if it's possible to use an Infopath form to post data to an Excel spreadsheet?

I've created a 'Timesheet' form and I'd like to give this to the team to record their weekly effort figures, and have it update a central Excel spreadsheet.

    Thanks,

    Marc

Yes, this is definitely possible and there are numerous ways to approach it.

One suggestion is that instead of using an Excel spreadsheet you could use a "Admin Hour Viewer" form that references the timesheet Sharepoint library and pulls all of the hours from there and groups them accordingly.

This article will get you started publishing to SharePoint:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/odc_ip2003_tr/html/odc_INF_Lab_03.asp

Using SharePoint as a secondary data source (in your Admin Hour Viewer Form):

    http://weblogs.asp.net/jan/archive/2004/03/10/87466.aspx

The MSDN site has some really good resources, it would definitely be a good place to start.
