'The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect' when trying to edit some existing forms

I have a form library on Sharepoint where I save my forms. On certain forms, when I try the editing then save, I get the 'The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect' message.

I can't see anything obviously wrong, can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

Is the filename generated based on field values?  Is there any chance it could have any non-allowed punctuation or other characters in it?

Yes, the filename is generated by field valuse but there are not strange characters in there. This is an examle of one that doesn't work anymore: Compromise Agreement for Employer2011-11-18T17_32_43.

All the forms in the library are named using the same method.

Also, if I go into the sharepoint libary and edit the details of fields that are in the library but not actually part of the form and try to save I get the following message:

    The file FileOpenExistingClient/Matrimonial2011-11-10T15_34_56.xml has been modified by TAYLORVINTERS\haywarda on 17 Nov 2011 11:46:43 -0000.

JeniEck, did you get your issue resolved? I have the similar issue on my infopath forms as well. After upgrade its not saving old forms anymore. Even when i edit the item in the library it gives me the same error like yours.

I am receiving the same error message.  It only exists for older files (haven't been able to nail down when the problem started though).  I have no problem creating a new InfoPath form and submitting it.

Aside from receiving that error message when submitting, I cannot update the form properties directly on SharePoint either for the historical files.  I receive this error message telling me I modified it nearly a year ago:

     "The file Assets/20 Montchanin Corporate Center_ Greenville_ DE 19807 - 966.xml has been modified by OFFICE\kcorbe01 on 10 May 2013 15:02:32 -0400."

It's almost like there is a file lock dating back to then?  Weird.
