I've created an InfoPath form using InfoPath 2007 form filler. The form utilizes several drop-down lists which reference SharePoint lists for their selections. The drop-down lists are in repeating tables.
For users who have Internet Explorer 9 installed on their computers (they all are using Windows 7 with InfoPath 2007) the drop-down lists display perfectly.
However, for users with IE 8, when a user selects the drop-down arrow, the items in the list are truncated and the number of characters displayed in the drop-down list window is limited.
Is there an update, patch, or configuration setting in IE 8 that would allow the drop-down list window to be dynamic and display as widely as necessary, the same as it does with IE 9? Or, is there a setting somewhere in the InfoPath application that would enable users with IE 8 to see the total width (all characters) of the items in the list without truncation?
Thanks for any help you can provide!

I found one posting regarding printing the entire width of a drop-down list that resolved this issue:
Go into the drop-down list field size configuration. Remove anything in the box regarding size so that the box is empty. Select Apply. The size box will now be populated with "auto." Save and publish. The field now displays dynamically in InfoPath 2007 when IE 8 is the browser and the entire width of the drop-down list will be displayed.
Hope this is helpful to others.
