InfoPath Dev

Hi Everyone,

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm hoping this is an easy question. I'm using SharePoint InfoPath services and I would like to create a hyperlink that allows the InfoPath form to open for submittal without having to click on add document.  Sounds easy, right?  Well here’s the problem.  The link is too long.  So when I paste it into the link library it chops it off. 

Here’s an example of the link that I’m trying to paste in:

http://620-650-314:100/IT/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=http://620-650-314:100/IT/IT%20Activation%20Form/Forms/template.xsn&SaveLocation=http%3A%2F%2F620%2D650%2D314%3A100%2FIT%2FIT%20Activation%20Form&Source=http%3A%2F%2F620%2D650%2D314%3A100%2FIT%2FIT%2520Activation%2520Form%2FForms%2FOpen%2520Activation%2520Forms%2Easpx&DefaultItemOpen=1

Super long.  I know.

Here’s what happens to the link when I paste it in to the link library:

Butchered.  Anyway, does anyone have any ideas?  I’m not really sure how to shorten this link without renaming a bunch of folders, etc.

What if you decode the URL?:

I used http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/dencoder/, and decoded it twice to remove all the apparently encoded stuff - can't sanity check it, because I don't know what your actual XSN Location, Save Location & Source should be....

Euw. Looks like the character limit is 256. You can probably leave off DefaultItemOpen=1, since having Source should cause the form to open in the browser. I'm wondering if you can use relative paths for the XsnLocation, SaveLocation and Source.

May be worth a try, right?

Looks like you may need to add OpenIn=Browser too.
