    Infopath Sharepoint MS SQL, ACCESS

    Hi Hillary/All,

I really like the way how patiently u answer everyones queries. And, your answers are really insightful and helpful to everyone who is seeing them for some guidance . And, it would be really nice of u if u can help me on an issue i am facing.

i use infopath for the sharepoint 2007 here i have a requirement of allowing the user to export the values to an excel sheet he creaes
i can use the export to spread sheet option but the problem is the rows of data which will be shown are in infopath form
and when the form comes up i dont get the option export to spreadheet .

    How do i do it?

Secondly, for storing values in a backend MS -SQL Server

And, one more issue , what is BDC? and, how is it related to MS SQL - infopath. As, some body said it is not available so the SQL and infopath cant directly communicate

Please explain me the situation and guide me with some new links.

Some one was suggesting me a way of putting all the data in the excel sheet and making the excel sheet communicate with the access / sql?

     Thanks

    Hi:

I think you are saying that you have repeating data in your form, thus promoting it to your SharePoint library is not adequate for your user. But does your user not have the option to export to Excel from within InfoPath? That functionality has been in InfoPath for awhile - this link may help you.

As to storing in SQL, sadly, if you didn't build your form off a SQL database, you'll need either code or a web service for submitting your data to SQL. The company I work for has built a great web service for this - more here.

BDC - I'm not as familiar with. But this link makes it sound like what is called External Lists in SharePoint 2010 - that is, a way to expose and work with data from other sources, like SQL.

    Hope this info helps you!
