I will be installing IP2010 soon and will be rebuilding from scratch a form that my company currently uses. In the form there is an "expense" section. normally only one technician works on a given job but occasionally there are more. I need to be able to have each technician's expenses separate for ease completion but then have them combined for the view that will go to the customer. I have one option of having a repeating section that has the expense structure in it for the technician to fill out and the another expense section that sum them all together. This I can do. The one thing I don't like about this option is that it makes the form longer and longer and it seems cumbersome when reviewing this information. I know that I can setup conditional formatting and rules to have these hidden.
Another option is to have my normal form width but at the expense section have a table with a second column just as wide with the repeating section there, so it would appear to the right of the main form. But again as additional sections are added both columns of the table get longer and the main one on the left is left with a large empty space.
Is there any way of having a table or section to the right of my main form that expands vertically independent of the main left hand side?
Also does IP2010 have a repeating table that adds columns in stead of rows?
Since my forms are not printed to paper I would like to use the horizontal space to the right of my main form for more sections, controls etc. This would make my form much more versatile.
Visualize it like this: normally a form is made up of a column of sections; Customer Info, Machine Info, Expenses, etc. with table and other controls. What Iwould like to do is at any point on this column allow my form to expand to the right (or left for that matter but is not something I have need of) they way a cross word puzzle or Scabble work. But then also be able to work vertically from from this new horizontal position without affecting the other columns.
Is there any way to do this?
Thank you in advance for your help!
