I am stumped on an InfoPath project – turns out it might be a “deal breaker” if I can’t get it working. I created a page with an InfoPath 2010 form webpart and a list view web part of library. What I want to accomplish is passing the promoted output parameter from InfoPath into the editform.aspx modal pop-up for a document library on the page.
So, users fill out the form, one field is File name, and they type “hello world 9.16.11”. When a user clicks the “add new document” button on the list view web part, uploads the document, I would like to pre-populate the “Article name” column in that library with the value in File name field.
It seemed simple enough; I promote ftbfielname field in InfoPath to output. I attempted setting up a connection, but I can’t pass the parameter to the library, only get filtered values. Also, after many long hours, I got irate, and attempted to use jQuery as a hack by grabbing the rendered HTML code. I couldn’t even get that to work, even following a similar idea posted by Marc Anderson. Does anyone know of a way to do this?
