copy data from one repeating table to another manually

    Hi All

This is more a "user" type question then a design question.

I have made a form for team meeting minutes all working good.

I have a repeating table called "attending_list" with 2 fields Full name and email.
I have a repeating table called "absent_list" with 2 fields Full name and email.

When filling in the form I would like to be able to copy one row of data from attending_list to absent_list.
I have tried to right click on the one I need to move to absent and select copy.
Then right click in the first field in the absent list and select paste.
To me this should be the "natural" way to do this. However doing this results in the copied row gets added one more time at the end of the attending_list and not in the absent list.

Any one have any good ideas how to resolve this "issue", apart from copying the content of each of the 2 cells separately.

Best regards and thanks in advance.

    Jesper

I don't know if this will work for you but here is an idea. -Insert a repeating table with 5 columns. -Copy the repeating table and paste it under the original. (I could do this with WinXP and IP2003 or IP2007, but not with Win7. Working on that!) -Delete the last two columns of the original table and the first three columns of the copied table. Now when you add a row to the first the second will also get a new row. -In the first two columns of the original table you can have your Name and Email textboxes for attendees and in the copied table you can have your Name and Email texboxes for absentees. -In the third column of the original table delete the text box and insert a button. -Using the rules for the button make the action copy the contents of the "attendees" textboxes to the "absentees" textboxes. Now if you want the name removed from the "atendees" list add an action to the button to do that. One thing here is every row will show up so you will end up with gaps in each list where the names are missing. If you want to change this here is one way. -Add a column to the copied table and insert a button as in the original table. -Set the rules to remove the name and email address from the copied table back to the original table. Pretty much the same thing you above just the opposite direction. -Now on the controls in the original table set the conditional formatting so that if the "Name" textbox "is not blank", "Hide this control". -Set the conditional formatting on the controls in the copied table so that if the textboxes themselves "is blank", Hide this control" These last two steps will insure that the original table will have textboxes and the button ready to use and the copied table will not. Now for visual effect remove the bottom horizontal boarders from the tables otherwise as you add rows you will see the boarders stacking up. Hope this helps, exemplaris
