Hi,

I am looking at building an infopath form that would submit to a sharepoint library. This would have about 1000+ fields ranging from checkboxes to freetext. I am aware of the sharepoint limtation here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc262787.aspx#Column with relation to number of columns

1. Does this limitation only affect the number of fields you mark as columns when publishing the form
2. Can you only perform searches and MI on the fields you mark as columns when publishing the form

1) Yes, only applies to number of promoted fields.
2) No, search should work on everything, but you may have to configure it for XML files.
