    German Umlauts in a XML-file

    Hello All,

until now, I wrote xml-files in the text-editor and saved them as .XML. Then I connected the .XML-File to my InfoPath 2003 form. Everything worked fine.

But now, everytime I want to connect the XML-File to a new form I receive the message that the textual content conatins an invalid character. I know that the invalid characters are the german umlauts (ä, ö, ü).

    The first row in my XML-file is <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

What am I doing wrong? Why does XML not accept the UTF-8 encoding anymore?!

Thank you very much in advance for your support.

Have you ensured that you are actually saving the files with utf-8 encoding?
