Hi Hilary,
You are correct in your understanding that I submitted the IP 2007 form screenshot to demonstrate that browser forms do display custom submit messages. I was hoping to use the same message from my 2007 form (that was configured in the Advanced box "show this message") in the 2010 version of the form.
There are differences between the 2007 and 2010 versions of the IP form submit setup. I will send you a copy of both forms via Email to you. I think it would help if I explain my purpose and hence why I am using qRules and the changes to the submit option. Perhaps you can advise if I'm taking the correct approach or whether I should do something different.
On our Sharepoint 2007 extranet site, each customer fills out their contact & network information in their form (sensitive information). They access their own form from their own secure home page and submit back to that same document library. This has been working well and the submit failed/success message displays.
In our soon to be rolled out (once this issue is solved) Sharepoint 2010 site, we were looking to consolidate the information from each customer's home page to one separate, secure list in Sharepoint. This is so that our customer support team would can have a centralized list instead of going to each customer's home page. I was able to configure this list to work using qRules (the documentation & functionality are good). However, I can't seem to have the same submit success/failed prompt appear. There are differences between the 2007 & 2010 IP forms, as you can see. Now I have 2010 set up to submit the xml data to the SP list, and just save the form into the library that the customer accessed it from (i.e. their own secure home page). My new message instructs them to click submit AND save the form. If there are ways to automate this (via setup of a rule, etc), maybe I don't even need the messages. Although it's always reassuring to have a successful submission message.
Does this all make sense? If not, please email or call me and I will clarify.
Thanks, Maureen
