Disable drop-down box recalculation from code

    Here's my problem.

I have a drop-down box in a repeating row that has it's result set filter based on what's entered in the previous text box. It does this all correctly and submits correctly, but when the form is reopened it resets all values in the drop downs to the first value in the result set.

     Example.

In row 1: You enter work order 222 in the text box and there are three items in the drop-down you can select (A, B, C) related to that work order. So I select B

In row 2: I again enter work order 222 in the text box. Then I select item C in the drop-down.

I submit the form fine but when I open it again it resets all values in the drop-down to A, the first item in the drop-down values.

I'm thinking that perhaps I can disable recalculation on the drop-down once a value is selected? How can I disable this through code. Or perhaps someone has another suggestion?

     Thanks!

Hi, I dont think you can disable a field from code. I suggest you to remove your rule or default value and do it with code. I remark that If you remove a row of a repeating table rules never fires.

There isn't a rule on the drop-down, just a filtered set of values and I don't want to disable the control. Rather, I just want to keep it from recalculating when I reopen the form. If I select B from a choice of A, B, C it's resetting the value to A when I reopen the form.

What is resetting that field's selection from whatever it was to A? Something must be changing the value -- do you have any open rules in place? A default value run amuck?

    Thanks for the reply.

No default value set, just a filter on the drop down based on what's entered in the first text box of the repeating table.

If you can share your form, attach it to a reply (under the Options tab) and I'll take a quick look and see if I can see what might be changing the field. You don't have any code in this form, do you?
