    button control not showing?

I have an Infopath (2007) form, with nothing but a button on it. When I do an Email Submit and it's set to "send only the active view of the form and no attachment", the button doesn't show up in the email. However, if I have the Email Submit set to "send the form data as an attachment" the button does show up.

The button doesn't show in the preview window of Outlook 2007 no matter how the Email Submit is set.

    Why is that?

When you send the XML as an attachment, Outlook launches InfoPath inside of the message body. So you're seeing InfoPath running and you can fill out the form from Outlook.

When you send just the active view, the XML is converted to MHTML and buttons are stripped out since they won't work (no InfoPath business logic going on with plain MHTML).

The preview window of Outlook doesn't host InfoPath.

Hope that answers your questions ...
